WHO ALICE PARKER, 25

I AM a painter.

I AM WEARING a jumper from Opullence from Paris, this corduroy dress was given to me by a friend and is vintage from the US and my shoes are from a little store on Queens Parade in Clifton Hill. My bangle is from Tiffany & Co and my bag is from Rabeanco in Amsterdam.

MY STYLE IS classic, colourful, not overly feminine but I like to get dressed up.

I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF Chloe Sevigny - she's got attitude and an eclectic style and she has a bit of fun with what she wears.

MY FAVOURITE LABELS are Kirrily Johnston - I like her monotone colours and chic, flattering cuts with good tailoring. Basic is good for classic cottons that are easy to mix with.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE TO SHOP IS Filly's Stable in Albert Park - they're really helpful, they stock clothes that suit my style and I know I can always find something I'll love in there. I don't actually like shopping; I usually go once a year and stock up and this is pretty much where I go for my annual shop.

MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS red velvet pants with a gold cow-necked sequinned top out to a seedy pub on the peninsula while I was underage. I bought the outfit [to wear] for a boy I had a crush on.

WHEN I WAS A KID I used to wear shorts all the time; my favourite was a pair of bike shorts covered in pineapples.

I WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD carrying a monogram bag; it's a statement of status rather than style.
