ABB, Viterra merger given green light

25 Jun, 2009 03:39 PM
The Foreign Investment Review Board has given the green light to the proposed merger of ABB Grain with Canadian giant Viterra.

The FIRB has advised the two companies that there are no objections to the proposed scheme of arrangement, which was announced to the Australian Securities Exchange on May 19, in terms of the Federal Government's foreign investment policy.

The transaction remains subject to other regulatory, shareholder and court approvals, as well as other conditions.

It's an end of an Industry. AWB, ABB who is next? I suspect Graincorp now it has a monopoly in the east and is broke as well as poorly run by a shocking Board.
