This trough has been tracking east bringing widespread rain and isolated thundery showers to the Northern and Central tablelands and across the Slopes and Plains of inland NSW.

Up to 9am on Sunday, Parkes managed to pick up 24 mm of rain and Orange picked up 14 mm.

For both, this is their highest 24 hour rainfall since mid March.

In fact, many areas across the Central Tablelands and the Central Western Slopes received their highest rainfall since early autumn.

Cumnock picked up 16 mm, with Molong picking up 12 mm with 10 mm for Hill End.

Similarly over the Northern Tablelands and North West Slopes, Duri picked up 13 mm, Gunnedah picked up 12 mm, Kingstown 11 mm, Uralla 8 mm and Armidale airport 7 mm.

During Sunday, downfalls have eased as the trough has moved further east into the Tasman sea.

However, a set of cold fronts sweeping across the southeast and persistent easterly winds will bring more rain to the region over the next few days up until late Wednesday, when clear skies will return.
