Kids show support for Peter Spencer

Kids show support for Peter Spencer

28 Dec, 2009 09:39 AM
THE four eldest children of hunger striker Peter Spencer arrived in Australia to embrace their father on Christmas Day.

Aaron, Kahn, Sarah and Emma - who all reside in Michigan in the US - were raised on "Saarahnlee" and travelled home to support their father, who is on a hunger strike for farmer land rights.

The children, including Peter Spencer's four-month-old grandchild that he had not yet met, travelled for more than 30 hours and arrived in Canberra on Christmas Day.

Aaron and Kahn Spencer both scaled the tower to talk with their father, and provided him with warm clothes and shelter from the oncoming rain.

They are also setting up internet links to Peter which will be sent around the world.

“(Peter's) condition is deteriorating and he is determined to continue his hunger strike until the Australian Government acknowledges that farmers' land has been stolen to meet the Kyoto protocol treaty commitments," said Sarah Spencer.

I am distressed for this brave heart man to lay down his life for our country which has been taken over by a solicalist govt where will we all be in a number of years under a new world order that has insidiously crept on us but it has all been propheized in Gods book the bible so get ready for a bumpy ride during the times ahead! This reminds of Jesus whom laid his life down for mankind so many years ago are we to reject him also and not support his cause I will never vote for the labor party again that is my support to this dear man !

ministers, councillors and stakeholders who nominate or support nominating private property not being there own for comulsory aquisition, should be made to subsidise those that stand to loose use and ownership of private property, and going through the land holdings they own a substantial portion of land, as investments. if ever this treacherous act is bought into the full limelight of the public arena it would be a great opportunity for native title to also all come under the one law for all australians . the optune time to unite as a nation. and where in gods name are our christian leaders, the monachists and supporters of the constitution, the national civic council and many more groups have neglected the australian citizens far too long. to all the ministers involved in this scheme nation wide, the shame and disgrace you portray to the world how cheaply you betray your fellow countryman . mr rudd you are fast loosing favor with those who elected you , and mr peter spencer was wise to your character flaws before he climbed the tower of hope. peter spencer and his family may you all have a joyess new year as a united family and know australia is praying for you all.

Unfortunately, it looks like these governments in Australia will have blood on their hands. They just don't really care about people individually: they're all about spin, general policies and votes. And, the land clearing decisions looked good, was applied overall without any regard for individual cases and looked good to urban labor nd green voters. Pathetic. And Rudd claims he is Christian!

Rudd would rather fly all around the world and leave the tough issues to his ministers.. what type of leader is that!!!! Burying his head in the sand... hoping that he comes out sqeaky clean.. afraid not.. i think you are a one termer Rudd... Peter Spencer has a big following.. standing up for what is right... Governments should not be able to take from people what belong's to them to satisfy their politcal agenda.. bye bye Rudd.. bring on the election

Here is one man who is taking stand for what is right. It is a shame that main stream media don't help him.

Am I the only one that remembers that this was brought in by the previous Liberal-National government?? Ask your National party reprepresentive why they agreed to this and the sale of Telstra and other Liberal initatives that adversely affects the farmer/ country dweller. Best of luck Peter but we need an independent representive batting for us.

Peter is a brave man to put his life on the line for a matter of principal. Unfortunately the groups that should be supporting him and rallying support are conspicuous by their absence. Why has the NSW Fencesitters Association not come out with targeted support and actions such as organizing a rally? They have ignored this issue since the state government bought in the Native Veg laws in the 90's. Then we ask the National Farmers Federation, why has not the Fighting Fund been used to assist Peter in his court actions and give him support by the Federation? The courts have agreed with Peter's claims. Most importantly why have these so called farmer organizations not chased these issues themselves? The apathy that is in the farming community must change and farmers must stand up and be counted and at the same time these so called farming associations must get off their backsides and do what is expected of them.

There are many who played a part in this, willingly or in ignorance. It is time for the ignorance to cease and for all of us to join in the fight. How best can we help Peter?
