BOB Katter wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin Rudd became Prime Minister again.
Yhe founder of Katter’s Australian Party yesterday observed that Australian politics was full of comeback kids.
"Australia is all about comebacks," he told Sky News, citing former Prime Ministers Billy Hughes, Joseph Lyons, Ben Chifley, Robert Menzies and John Howard as examples.
"It reads like the who's who of Australian politics," he said.
The Member for Kennedy, who founded his Australian Party last year, said the Labor Party didn't have many other leadership alternatives to Mr Rudd.
"I'm a bit fascinated as to where else they're going to go" he said.
"I wouldn't think they've got a lot of options."
Mr Katter also said Mr Rudd was a "very tough bloke" who had "morality" and a "dream for his country".
This isn't the first time Mr Katter has sung the praises of Mr Rudd. Following the 2010 election, he said he would support Mr Rudd were he still the Prime Minister.
But yesterday, Mr Katter - who is unaligned in the current parliament - would not be drawn on whether he would support a rebooted Rudd Prime Ministership.
Katter’s Australia Party is fielding about 60 candidates in the upcoming Queensland State Election.
