Butcher inquiry drives Hay, NSW, wether prices to $82

30/06/2008 1:29:00 PM
Solid butcher inquiry was the key to a successful June store sheep at Hay on Friday where best sales of one year-old Merino ewes made to $78 to $80 a head.

A similar-aged group of wethers topped the sale at $82.

Grazier support was extremely weary on the day, despite a record low yarding of 14,000 head, as seasonal conditions across a wide area of the southern NSW and Victoria have gone beyond the knife-edge.
