Prices for Merino ewe hoggets soared to $112.50 a head during an enthusiastic demand for quality breeders lines for store sheep at Jerilderie, NSW, on Friday.
Buyers from three states attended and competed for the 18,000-head yarding, which found many lines being forced onto the market due to the exceptionally dry conditions being experienced across a wide area of southern NSW.
