Cab drawcard for new Longmen Warriors

Cab drawcard for new Longmen Warriors

24 May, 2009 04:00 AM
THERE’S a new range-topper to Strohfeld Agricultural Imports’ YTO International line-up from China.

Enter the new-look Longmen Warrior X1204 four wheel drive unit which, at 90kW (120hp), carries the mantle of being the most powerful YTO tractor currently available in Australia, according to company spokesman Miles Strohfeld.

Part of a burgeoning range which offers farmers models that start at 26kW (35hp), the focus of interest in the newcomer will be on its stylish-looking “tinwork”, plus the updated cab, and moves to seek more dealers in Central and North Queensland.

Scheduled to debut at the upcoming CRT FarmFest 2009 event, Mr Strohfeld said potential customers would experience “next-to-no-difference” in the new tractor’s power train, believing its rugged credentials have stood up well to Australia’s notoriously tough operating environment.

The ‘comfort-cab’ also is expected to draw favourable comment with its flat floor and improved visibility.

Also, improved air conditioning enhances year-round comfort.

Sitting in the quality suspension seat allows drivers to take in the revised centre-dash console offering both digital and gauge-type read-outs, adjustable steering column, also the front windscreen blinds which form part of the basic specification.

A “no-nonsense” 12/4 transmission, triple remote outlets and power steering also are included as standard, according to Mr Strohfeld who says the X1204 was first unveiled in China some 12 months ago.

Interestingly, the YTO International company, which is located in central China’s Louyang City, near the home of the famed Terracotta Warriors, makes its own engines that meet the latest European emission standards.

More powerful models are in the offing. These will include 120kW (160hp) and 135kW (180hp) models with Mr Strohfeld reporting it’s “business-as-usual” with the manufacturer which recently tempted Strohfeld Agricultural Imports to take advantage of some “hot-deals” on offer from the supplier.

The price of the new X1204 unit is $73,040, including wheel weights, with a four-in-one loader also available.
