FARMERS will need to place orders next month at the latest to secure machinery for the 2009 season as global demand soars.
Manufacturers in the United States, Canada and Europe are under huge pressure and, in some cases, require dealers to fully confirm the names of customers before accepting orders.
With huge demand from Russia and former Eastern-bloc countries such as Belarus and Ukraine as more land opens for cropping, delivery to South Australian croppers may take up to 18 months.
