Industry calls for CSIRO wine relocation reversal

1/07/2008 4:29:00 PM
After almost 90 years at Merbein, Victoria, the CSIRO shocked the wine industry with its announcement it would close its horticulture research hub and relocate its leading wine program to Adelaide.

But the Australian grape and wine industry is desperately trying to alter the decision.

It says the Federal Government's focus on climate change adaptation makes Merbein - near Mildura - the ideal site for the research station.

The July edition of GrapeGrowers & Vignerons looks at the issues surrounding the planned move, and the anticipated effects on the Australian grape and wine industry.

The publication also reviews the United Kingdom report which takes the global wine industry forward to 2058, reports on the proven MLF theory and profiles the brothers who dare to be different at Kindergarten.
