Boy, 3, drowned in NQ farm dam

11 Jan, 2010 08:40 AM
A TODDLER, who drowned in a dam on a far north Queensland property, was found yesterday afternoon by his father.

The three-year-old boy was found by his father on the Dimbulah property, about two hours west of Cairns, nearly one and a half hours after he went missing.

Police said workers on the property joined the search for the toddler after he disappeared about 2pm.

"The boy was located by his father in a dam on the property about one kilometre from the family home," police said in a statement.

Paramedics tried to revive the toddler, but to no avail.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
