STAND By Your Man was Tammy Wynette's famous song to encourage marital unity.
At the next Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo Queen Quest, the men and the women could be standing side by side and competing against each other.
Queen Quest co-ordinator Donna Kuskopf is calling for entrants to next year's quest, that includes men.
Ms Kuskopf said organisers were always looking for men, although it had been years since the crown was won by the Chamber of Commerce's Brett Peterson.
"As far as I know Brett is the only man to have won the Rodeo Queen title," she said.
At the initial information session for those interested in entering the quest, there were four potential entrants but only two signed up.
Ms Kuskopf was crowned Rodeo Queen in 2009 and said it was a big commitment.
"We have changed the guidelines for entering the quest to make the rules fairer and to try and inform the entrants about the time and effort involved," she said.
"They need a plan of events and they also need a good committee behind them."
There are two categories: the Rodeo Queen, which is judged throughout the year, and the Charity Queen, won by the entrant who raises the most money for their charity.
Every entrant has to raise a minimum of $5000 for their charity to be eligible for the final judging.
The year of the Rodeo Queen starts on November 1 when Ms Kuskopf hopes to have her entrants finalised.
