A GOOD wet season in the Bowen district resulted in eight local graziers entering 120 cattle, that occupied 69 pens in the trade section of the Show last week.
Judge Marvin Deicke, Collingvale, Proserpine, saying he had to earn his keep as it was a quality yarding which made it hard to separate out the winners.
There were also 12 local high school students who tied their hand at junior judging, for which they all received a certificate.
The Show caters for all classes of equestrians with the Pony Club events well patronised, the kids being led around the course having as much fun as the others.
The weather couldn’t have been better with the temperature in the high 20swith only a light breeze, which is unusual for the wind capital of NQ.
And to entertain the crowd in the afternoon three local lads showed off their prowess on dirt bikes by jumping them to ridiculous heights on a specially prepared area near the cattle ring.
