Ingham Show goes on

15 Jul, 2009 04:00 AM
TWO surnames dominated the prime beef section at this year’s Ingham Show; Chiesa and Hobbs.

The two families held first or second place for six out of the seven prime beef sections with the Hobbs family taking out the Landmark Champion Prime Beef Male trophy.

But the Chiesa family dominated the herd section taking home four blue ribbons, plus the CHR Champion Herd Male and Female awards.

The Herbert River Pastoral and Agricultural Association again hosted a neatly run cattle section with the welcoming hospitality it has become known for.

Despite the heavy wet season earlier this year, Ingham turned on a typically ideal day for the judging as healthy number of entries were taken in and out of the ring under the expert eye of guest judge Michael Trout, Mungalli Falls, on the Tableland.
