Seed graders have chance to place in treatment course

06 Jan, 2012 04:00 AM
AUSTRALIAN seed graders have the opportunity to win a placement in Bayer CropScience’s Seed Treatment Application Centre (STAC) training course at Bayer CropScience’s manufacturing plant in Pinkenba, Queensland in September 2012.

The STAC training course, open to all new and existing members of the Bayer CropScience G Team, provides an opportunity to participate in intensive training on using Bayer CropScience seed treatment products.

James Catherall, Product Manager at Bayer CropScience, said that the first two years of the training course held at Bayer’s state-of-the-art seed treatment centre had been highly successful and that the team were looking forward to making further improvements in 2012.

“The course gives seed graders the opportunity to participate in seed treatment product and application training, with a focus on continuous improvement and seed treatment excellence,” Mr Catherall said.

STAC training course participant from 2011, Kieran Brooks from Kotupna, Victoria said, “Not only did I find the course beneficial to my business, I also got a lot out of hearing what the other graders had to say.

“It was a great chance to network and to ask fellow graders questions. Overall, the trip was well organised – I had a ball.”

Another benefit for members of the G Team is exclusive access to Bayer CropScience’s reward system, available across all Bayer CropScience seed treatment products.

Another 2011 participant, Chris Martin from Moora, Western Australia said, “The benefits of the reward system are great. I can’t speak highly enough of the support I get from the Bayer staff.

“The course was excellent, it was very professionally run and a great way to get the latest information on new products and technology.

“Talking with the other graders was invaluable as we discovered that many of us were experiencing similar issues which we could discuss.”

This year, ten seed graders will be selected using a random draw of G Team members to participate in the STAC training course as well as a tour of Bayer CropScience’s manufacturing plant.

To enter the STAC training program this year, seed graders must join the Bayer CropScience G Team and submit an application that is provided in the G Team kits to Bayer CropScience between 1 December 2011 and 15 July 2012.
