REGISTERED Brahman bulls hit a high of $27,000 and registered females $11,000 at the second annual Brahman Classic Sale today at Gracemere.
A number of Brahman studs sold a total of 142 bulls at an average of $4690 and six females at an average of $5166, with the sale experiencing what few others have achieved this selling season - a 100 percent clearance.
Top price of $27,000 was achieved when the Fenech family, Fenech Brahman Cattle Co, Wowan, sold the 19-month-old grey FBC D Predator Manso 927D to Brad and Tania Mulvihill and family, Jackaroo Brahmans, Gracemere.
By FBC D Mr Arnie Manso (H) and out of FBC D Lady Lilly Manso (AI) (ET), the young bull scanned with an eye muscle area (EMA) of 127 square centimetres, P8 rump fat of 12mm and rib fat of 9mm.
Second top price of $25,000 was paid for the 28-month-old grey NBS Elate 044-7 (IVF) by Peter and Joy Newman, Rathlyn Brahman Stud, Emerald, and was offered by Tim and Sally North, NBS Brahman Stud, Gympie.
The top-priced registered heifer, FBC D Miss Brony Manso 860D, was also offered by Fenech Brahman Cattle Co, Wowan, and was snapped-up for $11,000 by Tony Hayne, Northern Vet Services, Noonamah, NT.
Biggest volume buyer was the Bush family, Maytoe, Alpha, who purchased 23 bulls for an average of $4522.
