A LARGER yarding of 2100 head came to hand at Gracemere today comprising 700 steers, 880 heifers, 365 cows, 110 cows and calves and 47 Bulls.
Cattle were drawn from Ayr, Clermont, Stockyard Creek, Moura Theodore and local areas.
Competition was keen throughout the day with most values firm to dearer.
Steers in the 200 to 300kg range averaged at 165c/kg with a high of192c and a low of 100c.
Those in the 300 to 400kg range averaged 153c with a top 164c and a bottom of 120c.
Heavier steers from 400 to 500kg topped at 173c with an average of 153c and a low of 116c. Heifers in the 200 to 300kg range topped at 161c with a low of 100c and an average of 141c.
Similar prices were reached for heifers in the 300 to 400kg range with a top of 160c, a low of 100 and an average of 134.
Heifers over 400kg sold for less than other heifers with a top of 143c, average of 139c and low of 118c.
Cows weighing from 320 to 450kg sold to an average of 112c with a top of 143c and a low of 89c.
Heavier cows over 400kg also topped at 134c with a low of 105 and an average of 128c.
Bulls under 600kg topped at 141c with an average of 116 and a low of 101. Bulls over 600kg reached an average of 120c with a low of 108c and a top price of 126c.
