Roma agents yarded a mixed quality offering of 7500 head at Tuesday's store sale, where the market struggled to maintain the strong rates of recent weeks.

Most descriptions of cattle lost value, with the exception of feeder steers which remained fully firm at a top of 193c/kg.

Steers in the 400-550kg range topped at 193c/kg and averaged 181c/kg (live) (+1), steers in the 350-400kg range reached 193c/kg and averaged 179, (+1) while steers in the 280-350kg range topped at 210c/kg and averaged 177c/kg (-5).

Weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 214c/kg and averaged 189c/kg (-7), while steers under 220kg topped at 214c/kg and averaged 180c/kg (-21).

Heifers in the 350-450kg range topped at 176c/kg and averaged 157c/kg (-9), heifers in the 280-350kg range reached 181c/kg and averaged 157c/kg (-12), heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 185c/kg and averaged 168c/kg (-4), and weaner heifers under 220kg topped at 186c/kg and averaged 166c/kg (-8).

Cows in the 400-500kg range topped at 158c/kg and averaged 133c/kg (-22), while cows in the 300-400kg range reached 143c/kg and averaged 114c/kg (-8).

Cows and calves sold to $660/head.
