CSR will rename its sugar and renewable energy business Sucrogen, as part of its proposal to demerge from its building products operations.
Sucrogen, which replaces the CSR Sugar brand, will be the new corporate identity that comprises CSR's positions in raw and refined sugar in Australia and New Zealand, and renewable energy in ethanol and cogeneration of electricity.
CSR sugar division chief executive Ian Glasson said Sucrogen was a combination of sucrose and generation.
Sucrogen will retain the CSR brand for its food and beverage products in Australia.
Shareholders will vote on the demerger proposal in February.
